About HomeGrown

After more than three decades in the real estate business, I've come to understand that home is more than just a place - it's a feeling, a sense of belonging to something bigger than yourself. And this was driven home to me time and again after my beloved wife, Suzette, passed away late last year.

In what was the most difficult time in my life, the community rallied around me, offering me support, advice and a sympathetic ear. And enough flowers to open a small florist.

And that, right there, is the essence of community. People rallying around and supporting each other, not for praise or personal gain, but because they genuinely care about each other.

And that’s why I want to give something back. To the memory of my wonderful wife and mother of my children who shared my life for over 30 years and to the incredible community that will continue to be my life for many years to come.

So this is for you. The very first issue of Homegrown. A digital tribute, made by locals for locals, to life and love in the Blue Mountains. To its incredible landscapes, spectacular flora & fauna, rich history and diverse cultural heritage. To its hard working businesses, thriving art scene and spirit of open-minded acceptance and inclusion.

But above all, a tribute to its community. Every single one of you who made me, and my wife, Suzette, feel like we were a part of something truly special and unique for the last thirty years.
